Engineering Mechanics is considered as one of the basic subjects for engineering students irrespective of branch as it develops thinking and problem solving capacity of the students. An engineer who successfully copes with new problems in the field must have a sound understanding of fundamental principles. The present course is designed to expose the students to a variety of situations that will test their understanding of the subject both at the concepted and analytical levels. Engineering Mechanics deals with both statics and dynamics. In statics the student is exposed to equilibrium of bodies at rest and in dynamics, the motion of bodies and the forces that cause them.
