Scope & objective of the course: The course Design of Concrete Structures-II covers different types of philosophies related to Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures with emphasis on Limit State Method. The design and detailing of Reinforced Concrete Structures such as Retaining walls, chimneys and different types of water tanks with reference to Indian standard code of practice and Design Aids are included. It also aims at providing the students adequate back ground in prestessed concrete design and behavior of shells. At the end of course the students will be in a position to design advanced reinforced concrete structures.
