1.     Program’s Mission and Objectives:

The mission of the program is to transform a student completely for high caliber competence through imparting knowledge of latest concepts and technology with traditional concepts and equips the students as per the demands of the industry or to pursue MBA, through various types of training and development program.  The programme aims to achieve the following objectives:

·         To provide adequate and in-depth understanding about business dynamism among the students.

·         To develop indispensable management skill sets for the promising professionals in the field of business.

·         To encourage the evolving entrepreneurial mindset in this dynamic modern business world.

2.      Relevance of the Program with HEI’s Mission and Goals:

 The ICFAI University, Tripura (referred to hereafter as the University) was established in 2004 through an Act of State Legislature (Tripura Act 8 of 2004). The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

The ICFAI University, Tripura is included in the list of universities maintained by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, vide their letter No. F.9-7/2006 (CPP-I) dated October 30, 2006. The University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London, the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and the Federation of Universities, India.

The University believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier areas through innovative educational programs, research, consulting and publishing, and developing a new cadre of citizens with a high level of competence and deep sense of ethics and commitment to the code of professional conduct.

3.     Nature of Prospective Target Group of Learners:

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is a campus based program offered with a view to impart in-depth knowledge and broad understanding of the basics of management. The program focuses on various areas of management and also equips them to pursue MBA program in due course. A BBA degree is the gateway for a student in the corporate world. The curriculum of B.B.A is designed in such a way that it helps the students to become not only more employable but also encourage them to become entrepreneurs. Primarily the target group of learners will be the students Passed in Class XII in any discipline. Final year Class XII students awaiting results can also apply.

4.     Instructional Delivery Mechanism:

Curriculum Design: The curriculum is designed by a committee comprising experts from the parent department of the ICFAI University and industry experts, keeping in view the needs of the diverse groups of learners. The delivery will be compactly bonded with digital learning technologies for world class learning.

Duration of the Program: Minimum 3 years. Nevertheless, the students would have to complete the program as per UGC guidelines.

Student Support Service: ICFAI University library and additional obtainable amenities for education shall be made available to BBA learners. Further, in order to successfully execute the programme, a wide range of support services are provided to the students. The various support services are as follows:

·         Remedial Classes for poor students

·         Industrial Visit

·         Soft skill classes

5.     Program Structure:

The BBA program consists of 36 courses covered in six semesters spread over three years. Students are also required to do summer internship after completion of Year 1 and Year II respectively. During 5th and 6th semester, students are exposed to elective courses in their respective field of specialization. The actual offering of electives will however, depend on certain number of students opting for the same elective.

 Finance: Working Capital Management; Life Insurance; Bank Management; General Insurance; Capital Markets; Investment Management; Insurance Management.

 Marketing: Sales Management; Advertising and Sales Promotion; Services Marketing; Marketing Research; Consumer Behaviour..  

 HR: Employment Laws, Training and Development, Performance Management & Reward Systems, Strategic Human Resource Management.
